Karen Avetisyan is the Artistic Director and CEO of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival. Born in 1988 in Yerevan, Karen graduated from Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University - The Department of Intercultural Communications. He was a film critic and author of several articles, columns, film reviews, and essays across leading media channels in Armenia.
Karen is also a member of the European Film Academy as well as the Union of Film Professionals of Armenia, the Armenian Association of Film Critics and Cinema Journalists, and the International Federation of Cinema Journalists (FIPRESCI).
He has also served as a jury member at Dhaka International Film Festival, Batumi Art House Film Festival, ReAnimania International Festival of Animation Films and Comics Art, Moscow International Film Festival, and Krakow Film Festival.
